Caring for the fountain grass is relatively easy, but it still requires a slightly careful touch as they can easily get damaged if you overwater them. But if you are looking to decorate with dried fountain grass, this is where it may be a little more difficult. Unlike Maiden Grass, which has smaller inflorescences, the flowers at the very top of fountain grass are quite large and very flimsy. So when Fountain Grass dries up, those little petals are very easy to break off, meaning you should not include them in wreaths unless you want to clean petals off the floor every time you open the door. Instead, put them in a vase with a few springs of other ornamental grass, and let their inflorescences droop over the side of the container, where they won't be damaged and won’t make a mess.
